👤 Account & Sign-In
Create an account, sign in, manage your password, and understand how accounts work with ClawManager.
Why Create an Account?
ClawManager works without an account. Your agents, configs, and data all stay local on your machine. But signing in unlocks a few useful extras:
- • Bug reports and feature requests are linked to your account so the team can follow up and you earn points
- • Giveaway eligibility for promotions like the Anthropic Pro subscription draw
- • Device merge links your anonymous usage data (downloads, app opens) to your account for a cleaner profile
Your data stays local. Creating an account does not upload your agents, conversations, or config to any server. The account is purely for app-level features like feedback and promotions.
First Launch
When you open ClawManager for the first time, a welcome modal appears with three options:
Sign Up
Opens the ClawManager website in your browser where you can create an account with Google or email. Once you sign in on the website, ClawManager picks up the session automatically through a deep link redirect.
Log In
Opens the in-app sign-in form where you can enter your email and password directly, or use the browser-based flow.
Skip for now
Closes the modal and lets you use ClawManager without an account. The modal will not reappear after you skip it.
Sign-In Methods
ClawManager supports two ways to sign in. Both are available from the account connection screen.
🌐 Sign in with Browser (recommended)
This is the primary sign-in method. It opens the ClawManager website in your default browser where you can:
- • Sign in with your Google account (one click)
- • Sign in with email and password
- • Create a new account
After signing in on the website, you are automatically redirected back to ClawManager via a deep link (clawmanager://auth). The app receives your auth token and signs you in. No copy-pasting needed.
📧 Email and password (fallback)
If you prefer not to open a browser window, you can sign in directly in the app using your email and password. This option appears below the browser sign-in button under "or sign in with email."
Note: this method requires an existing account with a password set. If you signed up with Google and have not set a password, use the forgot password flow first (see below).
Creating an Account
From the sign-in screen, switch to the Create Account tab. Click Create Free Account to open the ClawManager website where you can register with Google or email.
Accounts are free. No credit card, no trial period.
🔑 Forgot Password
If you have forgotten your password, or if you signed up with Google and need to set one for the first time:
1. Click "Forgot password?"
On the sign-in form (under the password field), click the Forgot password? link.
2. Enter your email
Type the email address associated with your account and click Send Reset Link.
3. Check your email
You will receive a password reset link. Click it, set your new password on the website, then come back to ClawManager and sign in.
Google users: If you originally signed up with Google, this flow lets you set a password for the first time. Once set, you can use either Google sign-in (via browser) or email/password to access ClawManager.
📱 Device Merge
When you first install and use ClawManager without an account, the app creates an anonymous device ID to track basic usage (app opens, platform, version). When you later sign in, ClawManager automatically merges that anonymous data with your account.
This happens behind the scenes. Your download token (if you installed via the website download link) is also linked to your account at sign-in, connecting your download event to your user profile.
🚫 Using Without an Account
You can use ClawManager fully without creating an account. On the sign-in screen, click Continue without account at the bottom.
Everything works the same: agent management, model switching, channels, backups, automation. The only differences without an account:
- • Bug reports and feature requests are submitted anonymously (no points, no follow-up)
- • You are not eligible for account-based promotions
📡 Online vs. Offline
The sign-in screen shows your current connection status (Online/Offline) at the top. Sign-in requires an internet connection to verify credentials with the ClawManager server.
If you are offline, you can still use ClawManager with your existing signed-in session or continue without an account. The app does not require a persistent internet connection for day-to-day use - your agents run locally through the OpenClaw gateway.
